Using Your Festival Pass January 16, 2010

With 52 separate projects in the Festival, you will need to do some picking and choosing in order to maximize your use of your Festival pass.

Here’s what we recommend.

1. Decide Which Shows Sound Interesting. Flip through the festival guide or check out the events page on the Fertile Ground site here.

2. Use the Calendar to choose which night to see which events. There is a calendar page in your festival guide, and a calendar page on the site here.

3. Purchase Your Pass. You can do that through the Fertile Ground site here. Once your pass is purchased, you will receive a confirmation email.

4. View Your Order Status. Click the “View My Order Status” link on your confirmation email. This will take you to a button that says “Manage Your Benefits.” Click that button to see the full list of festival events in alphabetical order.

5. Make Your Reservations. Find the first show you are interested in seeing on the list. Click the drop down menu to choose the date you’d like to see it. Then click the “plus sign” to the right of the drop down menu to confirm your selection.

6. Repeat for each of the shows you’d like to see.

Your tickets for the dates you’ve chosen will be held for you in will call by the organization. You can pick them up under your name on the night of your performance.

Enjoy! And don’t forget to join us for the opening party at Curious Comedy on January 22nd at 10 pm. It will be a great place to meet Festival artists, and plot with fellow audience members what you should see next in the festival!

What if my schedule changes after I’ve made my choices ? Is ther a way to go back and delete a show from the benefits page ?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Can I use my pass for three admissions to one show?

No. Your pass is good for one admission to each production on one date per production. If a show is running multiple dates, for example, you cannot return to see the show multiple times with the same pass. It’s designed to get you into each production of the festival once. I’d recommend having your two friends pick up passes as well!

After buying a festival pass, I was extremely frustrated when trying to book passholder seats thru the online box office to my 2 top choice performances. I found that both performances had soldout for passholders. Apparently, theater companies hold a certain number of seats for passholders. Once that number has been reached, then a passholder can’t make an online reservation using the pass. There were individual seats still for sale for these performances, so I know they weren’t sold out. I had to find out who the theater companies are, and then contact them individually to ask if they would reserve a passholder seat for me.

Both companies accommodated my request, so that makes me happy. However, it wasn’t easy, and took time that I didn’t expect or want to have to find. I hope you can change your policies and procedures to pass holders don’t encounter this kind of frustration. Thanks.

      Kathy,

We very much appreciate the feedback. I am pleased to hear that the organizations in question accomodated your pass request. We will work to create a more efficient way for organizations to adjust their available pass reservations next year. Thank you for sharing your experience with us and we look forward to seeing you at the festival!
